About us

Drama and play for everyday!

The background

Pyjama Drama was founded in 2005 by Sarah Owen, a secondary school drama teacher who recognised the immense benefits that children derive from drama, movement, music and play. It was an immediate success and now Pyjama Drama is expanding rapidly and being delivered in towns across the UK.

In 2010 Sarah was joined by Katie Moffat, and together they share a vision to nurture and grow Pyjama Drama into a loved and respected global brand. Katie has over fifteen years of experience inpr and marketing with a specialism in social media.

The programme

Here at Pyjama Drama we are passionate about providing young children with a drama programme that is fun, exciting, and which develops key social skills such as concentration, co-operation and confidence. Through our unique program which combines the disciplines of drama, movement, music and play, we are committed to offering children opportunities to explore the world in which they live, to learn about themselves and to develop their creative skills.

The National Curriculum

The programme has been developed in line with the current requirements of the National Curriculum for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Sessions support the key learning outcomes of curriculum guidelines and has been praised by Estyn (Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales) and by nursery managers and head teachers throughout the UK.

Our Music

Pyjama Drama music is truly unique – with over fifty original songs especially written to support each individual session to which it is skillfully integrated. Our music is fun and encourages the development of language, movement, and creative skills – children may be in role as a caterpillar during one action song or boogie like a dragon in another for example!

Our policy of care

We have a comprehensive care policy which ensures the health, safety and welfare of your child and welcome any comments or suggestions you may have about any aspect of Pyjama Drama.

Our family friendly working policy

As busy Mums, we understand the importance of balancing work and home life and believe that families should always come first. Our family friendly working policy outlines our commitment to the family and to providing a working environment that whilst stimulating and rewarding, is not at the cost of family life.
