In a nutshell
Pyjama Drama delivers drama and play classes for babies and children up to 7 years, across the UK and beyond. Play is an essential part of childhood. It develops skills that stay with us for life, and here at Pyjama Drama we're experts in play!
Our classes develop communication and language skills, concentration, social and motor skills (and more!), all whilst igniting the imagination! Children are led through magical adventures which allow them to learn about the world in which they live, develop essential life skills, make friends and have fun.

Pyjama Drama was created in 2005 by Sarah Owen, an experienced drama teacher who saw, time and time again, the immense benefits that children derive from drama, movement, music and play. It was an immediate success and Pyjama Drama expanded rapidly in towns, villages and cities across the UK. In 2013 Sarah was commissioned to write a series for CBeebies Radio and in in 2015 Pyjama Drama classes were launched in Australia and in Malaysia. At the beginning of 2016 our classes were launched in California, USA.
Here at Pyjama Drama we are passionate about providing young children with drama classes that are not only fun and exciting but which also develop key social skills such as confidence, concentration, co-operation and creative problem solving. Through our unique programme which combines the disciplines of drama, movement, music and play, we help children explore and make sense of, the world in which they live. Our classes are delivered in ‘public’ sessions, in nurseries and preschools, play groups, children’s centres and in schools. We also offer a wide range of fun-filled parties which have been created especially for the party environment. Please visit our children's parties page for more information.
The entire Pyjama Drama programme has been written and developed by an experienced former drama teacher, herself a Mum to three young children. The programme has been designed to support the current requirements of the National Curriculum in England and Northern Ireland (The Foundation Stage), in Wales (The Foundation Phase) in Scotland (The Curriculum for Excellence) and in Australia (The Early Years Leaning Framework), ensuring that young children develop the skills and understanding to progress happily and successful though their preschool years and through their early years at school.
The music and songs that we use in Pyjama Drama sessions has been specifically written to be integrated into the sessions and are unique to Pyjama Drama. They encourage the development of language, movement and creative skills – children may be in role as a caterpillar during one action song or boogie like a dragon in another! You can listen to the Pyjama Drama welcome song on our home page or visit our shop to buy our music to enjoy at home.
Our three week trial
Pyjama Drama has been shown to have real demonstrable benefit for a child’s development and the effect is cumulative; many parents tell us that they see this after only 3 weeks. After this short amount of time a child may develop the confidence to join in a game on their own or take on a role in the drama, sit with concentration and listen to the leader or learn to take turns with their new friends for example. This is why we offer a no obligation, 3 week trial which allows children and their parents the opportunity to experience the true value of our classes and provides a much clearer picture of how they can help to boost their child's development. Find your nearest UK class or one in Australia, Malaysia or California and book your 3 week trial today.
