Children’s parties

Welcome to the world of Pyjama Drama – a world in which anything can happen! Our themed parties, for children up to seven years, are packed full of drama games, music and activities designed to thrill the senses and ignite the imagination. Join us on a hunt for a fearsome dragon, fly away to the jungle and swing through the trees with the monkeys or find out what happens when an uninvited witch on roller skates comes to tea…

All Pyjama Drama parties combine drama, movement, music and play and each party leader will arrive armed with stickers, balloons and a special birthday Pyjama Drama CD for every child. All our drama games and activities are noncompetitive – we have no ‘winners’ so therefore no ‘losers’ either – everyone has a good time! Like our classes, our parties are age differentiated so you can be sure all activities are appropriate as well as lots of fun!

Drama parties for Dewdrops

Parties for children having their first birthday (Dewdrops) are suitable for children up to around two years old. Your party leader will dramatise a simple story for the enjoyment of your guests and invite them to become an active part in it. Simple play equipment such as parachutes, play mirrors, play cloths and bubbles are used to enhance the story and to thrill the senses!

Parties are thirty minutes long and a choice of four party themes are available:

  • Beep beep
(for little ones who love trains, cars, buses and generally getting out and about)
  • Little bunny
(a rather bouncy party with lots of snuggly fun!)
  • On the farm
(for those who love to moo, ba and quackadoodledoo!)
  • Roundabouts and lollipops
(a party on a sunny day in the park! Who could ask for more?)

Raindrops and Rainbows drama parties

Raindrops and Rainbows are children between two and five years, so these parties are suitable for children having their second, third and fourth birthday (some children who are turning five may also enjoy a Raindrops and Rainbows party, please speak to your party leader if you are unsure which party your five year old would enjoy most)

During the party, your party leader will take the children on a magical adventure through a range of imaginary worlds. Pretend play, drama games and music combine to encourage children to use their imaginations, to work together, to share their ideas and most importantly to have a great time. The birthday boy or girl will take part in a special birthday celebration held in their honor, making them feel like the King (or Queen) of the party!

Raindrops and Rainbows parties can be either fifty minutes or an hour and a half and offer a choice of six different exciting themes:

  • Jungle adventure
(jungle boots, binoculars and sleeping bag required)
  • Pirate booty
(find out what happens when a rival gang take Polly the parrot)
  • A little bit of magic
(how many tricks can you play with a magic wand?)
  • Princesses party
(a party designed to make every little girl's dreams come true!)
  • Dragon hunt
(the grand old duke of York has lost his dragon - we're all going on a dragon hunt)
  • The happiest clowns in town
(meet Claire and Fred, two of the happiest clowns in town!)

Sunbeams drama parties

Our parties for Sunbeams children (between five and seven years) are two hours long during which children will play a range of fun drama games to explore a simple story-rhyme and then dramatise it together. At the end of this two hour party (which includes half an hour for party food) parents will be invited to watch the drama they have created during the party. There are six different themes to chose from:

  • Jungle adventure
(danger, danger every where - keep your eyes peeled!)
  • Pirate booty
(swards at the ready for a battle over treasure!)
  • A little bit of magic
(find out what happens when a witch on roller skates comes to the party)
  • Princesses party
(how can you tell when you meet a real princess?)
  • Dragon hunt
(the villagers are scared of the dragon, but who is more frightened of who?)
  • The happiest clowns in town
(the towns people are miserable - will the circus cheer them up?)

What people say about our parties

  • 'Pyjama Drama delivered a Princess party for my little girl's third birthday and it was incredible. My daughter and her friends were in awe of Sarah the party leader, who was a great performer and a lovely singer. The games were fun and by the end of the party we had twelve exhausted but very happy princesses!' Kate, Freya's Mum
  • 'Leo's sixth party was a lot of fun and parents loved the fact that they could watch a mini performance at the end of the party. We had a pirate theme and although we had a party filled with a lot of boisterous boys the games and the drama really engaged them and so all I had to do was sit back and watch. Worth every penny and the best children's party we have ever had! Phil, Leo's dad
  • 'We looked around for a long time for the perfect first birthday party for our grandchild as we wanted something extra special. Extra special was just what we found with our Pyjama Drama party. Ella and her friends loved all the games and we had lots of comments from parents about how talented the session leader was' Mrs. Ramsdon, Ella's grandma
  • 'A great party enjoyed  by all. I just wanted to write to thank you for Jake's Pyjama Drama party which was wonderful. We can't thank you enough for giving the children such a wonderful experience.' Tanya, Jake's mum
  • 'Poppy had a Pyjama Drama party for her fifth birthday. We held it at a local church hall and invited forteen friends, who all participated in the party. Gemma is absolutely wonderful – she captivates the children and within no time at all, the children were using their imagination, role-playing, dancing, singing and performing like actors on stage. The party was well structured, fun and enjoyable for the children and the parents. It was a pleasure and a joy to watch. Thanks, Gemma!' Claire, Poppy's mum
