'Walk the Talk': Learn how to use drama and imaginative play to target communication and language

This training session is for early years practitioners and teachers who want to learn how to create imaginary worlds, play drama games, and use techniques and approaches that target communication and language - without the use of props or costumes. Using resources from our award-winning curriculum, 'Dip into Drama', we will not only train you how to deliver 20minute drama lessons with confidence, we'll also teach you how to enhance the learning opportunities of your children’s favourite stories and develop imaginative play activities that boost communication and language outcomes.
No drama experience or drama skills required and perfect even for those who may consider themselves naturally reserved - if you can put on different voices when reading a story, or make children laugh by pulling a funny face, we can show you how easy it is to use Pyjama Drama in your practice to develop communication and language.
There is no expectation for attendees to ‘perform’ or role play during this course, they will learn by observing the trainer; watching and evaluating teacher demonstration videos; participating in whole/small group discussions, and trying out techniques and drama games in pairs/small groups.
