How to get the best out of your 'Dewdrops' class

1) Arrive a little early on your first week if you can. This will lessen the chance of your child becoming overwhelmed by giving them a chance to say ‘hello’ to their teacher, and familiarise themselves with their surroundings before everyone else arrives.

2) Every class follows the same structure and begins with everyone sitting together in a circle. Join in from the beginning; Pyjama Drama is a shared experience, and your support will accelerate the development of your child’s skills.

3) Don’t worry if your baby wants to crawl around. Creative play is all about discovery, so if they crawl away from you, it just means they’re using their newfound physical skills to see what they can find!

4) Although we will never ask you to do any actual drama (that’s our teachers’ job), you will join in – tickling, spinning, bouncing, or dancing with your baby. And if your child isn’t enjoying a particular activity, let them sit quietly on your knee and watch their friends play - children learn through observation so even when they’re not joining in, they can be developing key skills.

5) Take the fun home with you - the more you sing our songs and play our games, the more rapidly your child’s skills will develop.

Meet Hollie Campbell...

Hi, I’m Hollie, Mum to two gorgeous little ones who love Pyjama Drama as much as I do! Having been a drama teacher for over ten years I have seen first-hand the benefits of using your imagination and pretend play. Children not only develop confidence and make new friends as they pretend, but they’re also always laughing and having fun! In addition, Pyjama Drama develops language and communication and helps young children to explore their world (real and imaginary!) in a safe and supportive environment.
