FAQ’s
What age is this class suitable for?Sunbeams classes are perfect for children around 5 – 7 years.
How long is a Sunbeams class?One-hour.
What happens in a class? In all lessons, children create their own original stories and then explore them using simple drama techniques such as hot seating, narration, and movement. In a typical lesson, children will sing, share their ideas, play two high-energy drama games, and work together to create an original and exciting drama story.
Do parents usually stay? No, this is usually a ‘drop-off’ class, but if you’d like to stay and watch for the first session or two, you’re more than welcome.
What should my child wear?Anything comfortable, including soft-soled shoes that your child can move, dance, run and play in.
Do you do performances? The focus of classes is imagination, not performance, although children do take on different roles and create mini-dramas within each class. At the end of a term, you may be invited to watch a short, informal sharing of their work, although this won’t be a polished performance.
